Novarad was first established in 1990 by Dr. Wendell Gibby, a radiologist inspired with a vision for technology's role in continuous improvement and efficiency in radiology systems. The company's first products focused on providing radiologists with a better way to read remotely. These products included a radiology viewer and a teleradiology module. As Novarad's success mounted, customers began clamoring for more - the development of a complete Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Today's NovaPACS was first developed and installed in 2000. This powerful radiology system was quickly followed by Novarad's first Radiology Information System (NovaRIS). Years of input that defined these products came from Novarad customers, radiologists, IHE, and members of the Novarad Board consisting of radiologists, accountants and businessmen.
Since its beginnings, core Novarad products have been successfully deployed in over 850 facilities. Currently featuring version 7 of both RIS and PACS, these products have matured with numerous innovations, time saving technologies, and advanced features. As one of the first completely mouse driven viewers, Novarad products focus on radiology efficiencies and productivity. Both our RIS and PACS have reputations of being easy to learn and use, yet feature-rich for even the most advanced users.
