Management Team

Wendell Gibby, CEO –

Dr. Gibby is a Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist with a subspecialty in Neuroradiology. Dr. Gibby founded Novarad in 1990. In addition to being CEO of Novarad, he currently owns and operates multi modality imaging centers in Provo, Utah and Salt Lake City, Utah. He served for 18 years at Utah Regional medical Center and with Utah Valley Radiology Associates. He is currently Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Arizona medical School and lectures frequently at radiology association meetings. Dr. Gibby received his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University, his medical Degree from the University of Utah College of medicine, and his Neuroradiology Fellowship from the University of Pennsylvania Department of Radiology.


Tim Law, President

Mr. Law joined Novarad in 1999 as the Director of R&D. He was promoted to President in 2001. Prior to working at Novarad, Mr. Law was Director of R&D at several other software companies, leading large teams in the development of products for consumers, education, healthcare, and industry. Prior to that, his background was in product development and product management as a software engineer. Mr. Law is a graduate of Brigham Young University, with a degree in Software Engineering.


John Fowler, COO

Mr. Fowler serves on the Board of Directors and has been involved in guiding a number of Novarad’s strategic business decisions since 2002. A CPA by training, he has enjoyed a distinguished career as a Partner at KPMG. Since leaving public accounting, he responded to the request of Utah’s governor to oversee the Salt Lake Olympic organizing effort, and has served as a founder/officer of two startup ventures. mr. Fowler received both a Bachelor of Science and masters of Accountancy degree from Brigham Young University and passed the national CPA exam in his first sitting.


Paul Shumway, Senior Vice President –

Mr. Shumway joined Novarad in 2001 as Vice President of Marketing. Shortly thereafter, he added the role of Vice President of Operations. Prior to coming to Novarad, Mr. Shumway was Vice President of Marketing, Sales, and Technical Services for a $100M company. He helped the company greatly increase sales by focusing on providing products that better served the end user. He also secured several patents and served as a division manager and as overseas plant manager for that company. Additionally, Mr. Shumway worked in the early phases of an IT startup company and as a sales rep for a publishing company. Mr. Shumway received his B.S. from Brigham Young University.


Doug Schroeppel, VP

Mr. Schroeppel joined Novarad in 2000 as Vice President of Technical Services. Mr. Schroeppel has an extensive background in leading technical service teams and in providing excellent customer service. Prior to coming to Novarad Mr. Schroeppel held positions in technical services with Corel (formerly Word Perfect), Novell, and Netschools. He has consistently lead technical service teams to higher ground and has been an innovator in finding ways to better support software products.


Bob Ahlman, Executive Vice President, Corporate Accounts –

Mr. Ahlman joined Novarad in 2003 as Vice President of Sales with a goal to build a strong and effective sales team and help Novarad become a major player in the RIS/PACS industry. Prior to coming to Novarad Mr. Ahlman worked in sales and sales management for 25 years with such companies as Con-Way Western Express, Toshiba, Uinta Business Systems and Iomega Corporation.


Tyler Harris, VP

Mr. Harris joined Novarad in 2005 as Director of Applications Training. He has since advanced to Vice President, Clinical Solutions. Prior to coming to Novarad, and since 1995, Mr. Harris worked as a licensed Radiology Technologist, specializing in angiography. He also held positions as lead tech and Director of Radiology in Salt Lake City area hospitals and clinics. Additionally, Mr. Harris has worked as a traveling technologist visiting and working with over 30 clinics and hospitals, helping them with productivity and workflow issues. Mr. Harris received his degree and certifications from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.


Ron Dickerson, Director

Mr. Dickerson joined Novarad in 2006 as Director of Accounting. He has worked in finance and accounting for over 25 years in various positions including CFO in the commodities and technology fields. Past experience includes working for Tenneco, and Castle & Cook subsidiaries. Ron also served as a small business consultant, helping start up businesses succeed. Mr. Dickerson received his B.S. in Accounting from Fresno State University.
